Dear Reader,
Here is the third installment of my new series of free e-books based on essays that have appeared either here at Figs in Winter or at one of my previous blogs.
This new collection comprises nine essays attempting to explain and make more accessible Margaret Graver’s fundamental book, Stoicism and Emotion, the only full length treatment of this very important subject that I’m aware of.
I had the fortune to meet Margaret at a Stoicon event and she kindly agreed to supervise the publication of the essays in this collection, to make sure I got things right. The result is what I think is an accurate and in-depth summary of her views on the Stoic psychology of emotions and the role such views may play in our quest for ethical self-improvement.
Enjoy, and remember, Philosophia longa, vita brevis!
