Welcome to another entry in our occasional series of video chats with authors and translators who have written about the philosophy, culture, and history of the Greco-Roman tradition.
This is a bit of a special episode, as instead of me interviewing a book author it is my friend Gregory Sadler who facilitates a discussion between Greg Lopez, Meredith Kunz, and yours truly about the new book, Beyond Stoicism—A Guide to the Good Life with Stoics, Skeptics, Epicureans, and Other Ancient Philosophers, simultaneously published in the UK under the title Live Like a Philosopher—What the Ancient Greeks and Romans Can Teach Us About Living a Happy Life.
The four of us, with the help of a live audience submitting questions, explore the three major types of Greco-Roman philosophy: those focusing on pleasure, those emphasizing character, and those built around doubt and uncertainty. We also take a look at some odd approaches, from Pythagoreanism to Neoplatonism.
Here is our conversation:
Hello! I purchased Beyond Stoicism on Audible and I’m thoroughly enjoying it so far. It mentions there was a PDF supplement that was available for the audiobook, but I can figure out where to find it. Can you advise? Thank you!
