Hi Massimo, thank you for your kind words. It was indeed extremely shocking! I am a dedicated Neo-Stoic and reflect frequently on death. In general I feel very prepared to deal with death. However, this was a very challenging example. My impression is that his passing was rapid and likely painless. Also, his wife is a physician and was on the scene immediately. His name was Richard Fenske and he was a retired professor and an agnostic and humanist. He was an excellent human being.
